LEARNING TO LEAD-EPISODE 5- LEROY LAWSON

LAWSON-100.jpg

I’ve known of LeRoy Lawson for over 20 years. He was one of the preachers and leaders that I followed and listened to. Now, it was not like today. This was before social media and podcasts. I had to hear people speak of him and listen to him on tapes that were in the library or that I ordered from Central Christian Church, where he was the pastor at the time.

Fast forward fifteen years and LeRoy and I were seated right next to each other on a board for a national conference for leaders. We instantly hit it off and he made me feel like we had been friends for years. We laughed, shared ministry stories, and he gave me leadership advice and mentoring. Since then, he has given me more encouragement and love than I can count. He makes everyone he comes in contact with feel special.

He has over 60 years of ministry and leadership experience. He led one of the most successful churches in the country and it is now thriving to another level of leadership large in part to his foundational leadership. He led Hope International University and grew it to the place of new growth and new frontiers. He is currently retired, for the second time, and is helping other churches and leaders grow and mature. This episode is worth every bit of your time.
